Mission Statement

Flight Feathers Ballet was founded by Mija Trimble in May, 2021. The intention behind both the name and the program is to create a space where each student can grow and explore their own unique wings through dance.  There are many different ways to soar and shine - our mission is to provide a safe and innovative environment to support every student’s development. All are welcome at our warm, inclusive studio!

Mija started dancing at the age of six in Hiroshima, Japan. It was not long until she fell in love with ballet and went on to perform title roles in Cinderella, Firebird, Giselle, Paquita, and more. Teaching has been her passion for the last 10 years and she has taught and directed shows in various dance schools throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as Tokyo and Kanagawa, Japan. In May of 2021, she decided to create her own company and opened Flight Feathers Ballet. While directing and teaching is her main focus, Mija still enjoys performing by collaborating with local musicians and artists and has been featured in numerous shows and music videos. 

Keep an eye out for Flight Feathers Ballet's fourth annual production of the Nutcracker,  being held at Lake Washing PAC!

Flight Feathers Ballet is proud to partner with the Cobbs Foundation NW every summer, to help provide dance education to underserved kids in the area.
